Mice

Description

The house mouse is the most common and economically important rodent which lives with close association to humans. It is gray and weighs about 1 ounce. The body and the tail of the mouse are each 3-4" long. The muzzle is pointed, the ears are large, the eyes and body are small. The droppings are about 1/8" - 1/4" long.

Habitat

The house mouse is a good climber and can jump as high as 1 foot. They are also able to jump down as far as 8 feet. Typically house mice can be found nesting in darker areas where there is little chance of disturbance. They are able to enter houses through small holes in the structure. They also prefer to nest where material to build a nest are available, such as paper, cardboard and insulation. House mice typically feed at dusk and just before dawn.
