House Mouse
With abilities like this, house mice are able to build up large populations quite rapidly. They can jump up to 12 inches, jump down from 8 feet, and can squeeze through holes only 1/4 inch wide, or about the diameter of a pencil. They nest in dark, secluded areas such as basements, crawlspaces and attics, usually within about 20 feet of a food source. They will eat most food they can get to, but prefer seeds and cereal. They are known to transmit salmonella and leptospirosis, a type of bacterial infection.
